About Me

I am a resident of Black Mountain, North Carolina, and I received my Integrative Health Coach certification  through Duke Integrative Health at Duke University. I am currently seeking national board certification.

I hold a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's in Library and Information Science. I am a former reference librarian at the University of Michigan - Dearborn, and was a lifelong distance runner until 2015. At that time, I developed Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) in my knee after hiking in the mountains of western North Carolina. Since then I have been on a journey to manage my own chronic pain through a combination of traditional medical treatment and alternative methods. I recently completed Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction training and also completed a Certificate in Meditation. Though my running days are over for the moment, I like to practice yoga, work out, swim, and take brief walks in our beautiful mountains. I am also an avid ceramic artist.
